Ailing website ahoy! When Karyx were first contacted to take a look at BabyBeau we were pretty shocked to find the state it was in. Built in the ecommerce templating system X-Cart, nothing seemed to be working properly. The products were fab, the idea was great but the customers just weren’t buying.

With a tight budget, short deadline and the simple brief of ‘make it work’ Karyx took it upon ourselves to turn BabyBeau into a premier online baby gift site.
The original site was pretty much invisible to the search engines and so, with decent rankings integral to gaining new customers, Karyx devised a plan to get the rankings up high without compromising style or aesthetics.
After reworking the brand to make it more approachable and gender-neutral, the core site structure was rebuilt in the original X-Cart templates adding tweaks and Karyx flourishes as we went. Meanwhile our copywriting maestro wove her magic into the content ensuring every BabyBeau user would encounter breezy, sparkling product descriptions and editorial.
The piéce de resistance was to add a new splash page to the front of the site that introduced the ‘BabyBeau feeling’ to the user and established the definitive brand identity to be carried through the new site.
Technical detail: The site is built with the X-Cart ecommerce templating programme and utilises an HSBC payment gateway for transactions. The X-Cart templates have been modified extensively to work with the BabyBeau branding and site structure.
